How to apply for Alberta PNP?

  • Before submitting their application, candidates need to determine the most suitable immigration stream based on their individual circumstances and the specified eligibility criteria.
  • The federal Express Entry program is harmonious with enhanced streams. The Alberta government has the option to issue a Notification of Interest to candidates who have utilized the Express Entry system and express an interest in immigrating to the province. Upon receiving the Notification of Interest, candidates are required to respond and, if selected, proceed to submit an application through the AAIP website.
  • Alberta has made enhancements exclusively to the Alberta Express Entry stream and the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway.
  • All other existing streams in Alberta fall under the category of base streams. To apply through these streams, candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via Alberta's AAIP portal. It is important to note that these streams cannot be accessed through the Express Entry system.

AAIP makes it easier for the in-demand workers to get Canada PR

Alterations to make it simpler for in-demand workers and entrepreneur to get Canada permanent residence.

1. Dedicated Healthcare Pathway

  • In 2023, this pathway, which is part of the Alberta Express Entry Stream, will consume up to 30% of the Express Entry allocations available.
  • Professionals in the following fields are qualified: doctors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, licensed practical nurses, physician assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and clinical social workers.
  • In order to be able to practice medicine in Alberta, qualified healthcare professionals must have a job offer from an employer working in the province's healthcare industry and must possess verifiable documentation of their compliance with the regulatory body's minimum standards.

2. AAIP Rural Entrepreneur Stream – Minimum Investment Criteria

The necessary minimum investment for applications has been lowered from $200,000 to $100,000, making it more competitive with other entrepreneur streams.

3. AAIP Rural Renewal Stream – The Community Designation Application Procedure has been modified to remove the Settlement Organization Endorsement Letter

  • The removal of this step simplifies the application procedure for community designation.
  • To demonstrate that sufficient resources are in place to successfully welcome immigrants, communities must still prepare a settlement plan as part of the designation application process.

4. Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP)

  • The EMPP will now include the AAIP as a participant.
  • The EMPP was created to facilitate the immigration of refugees through current economic programs who possess the skills and credentials required in Canada.
  • The AAIP is collaborating with the federal government to carry out the pilot and expand its annual nominations using this exceptional chance.
  • More information regarding implementation will be made available in the upcoming months.
