Express Entry 3rd draw of the week invites 1500 healthcare workers

1500 candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 463 received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through Express Entry draw 255. After last week’s draw, today’s draw was the second one for healthcare professionals that was category-specific. This indicates that only a few healthcare jobs were chosen from the Express Entry pool to represent all candidates in this draw.

This week’s third draw took place on July 6, 2023. The draw held on July 5th, 2023 was specifically for STEM jobs. A total of 500 applicants were asked to apply from specific STEM professions. Additionally, the CRS score has been lower for category-specific drawings than for all-program draws. The CRS score for yesterday’s draw was 463, down a staggering 48 points from the CRS score for this week’s all-program draw of 511.

After the CEC draw on September 14, 2021, which was held with a CRS score of 462, this express entry draw has one of the lowest cut-off scores.

The government can target people with the skills and jobs that are most in demand in Canada by holding draws for certain categories. Additionally, as the cut-off score is likely to be lower than in all-program draws, it will benefit individuals who fall into these targeted categories. By taking into account other criteria other than only CRS scores for these types of draws, more diverse profiles and experiences will have a chance at selection.

Future draws, according to the IRCC, will include all-program, category-specific, and PNP-specific draws.

Along with the total number of invites sent out, the following details also reveal the CRS’s base score:
  • Category: Healthcare Occupations
  • Total number of invitations sent: 1500
  • Minimum CRS Score: 463
  • Tie-breaking rule: June 19, 2023, at 06:41:05 UTC
What are the eligibility criteria for Healthcare Occupation?
  • Your profession must appear on the list of eligible healthcare occupations. The healthcare occupation list includes 35 different occupations.
  • The applicant must have 6 consecutive months of job experience (in Canada or abroad) within the previous three years.
  • Must fulfill all criteria outlined in the round’s guidelines.
