  1. Check Eligibility: First, go through the eligibility criteria for the Manitoba PNP. Make sure you meet the specified requirements, like having the needed education, work experience, language skills, and other criteria set by the program.
  2. Express Interest: If you're eligible, show your interest in the program. Manitoba uses an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. This means you create an online profile to indicate your desire to move to the province.

  5. Get an Invitation: Manitoba periodically invites people from the EOI pool to submit full applications. If you receive an invitation, you'll have a specific period to send in your application.
  6. Submit Full Application: Collect all the needed documents to complete your application. This could include education records, language test results, work experience letters, proof of funds for settling, and other supporting papers.
  7. Pay Application Fee: Pay the necessary application fee for processing. The amount can vary based on the category and stream you're applying under.
  8. Application Review: Manitoba officials will review your application as per the program's standards. They might ask for more documents or hold an interview if needed.
  9. Get Nominated: If your application is approved, you'll receive a nomination from the Manitoba PNP. This nomination is a vital step toward getting Canadian permanent residency.
  10. Apply for Residency: With the Manitoba PNP nomination, you can now apply to the federal government for permanent residency through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Submit your application and necessary documents to IRCC.

What is the eligibility criteria for BCPNP?

To be eligible you must:
  • Job Offer: You must have a full-time valid job offer from a BC PNP-approved employer. The job must fall under NOC (National Occupational Classification) skill levels 0, 1, 2, or 3.
  • Job Suitability: You should be capable of performing the duties required for the offered occupation.
  • Work Experience: You must have a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in any skilled occupation listed under NOC skill levels 0, 1, 2, or 3.
  • Self-Sufficiency: Applicants must demonstrate the ability to support themselves financially and be independent during their stay in British Columbia.
  • Immigration Status: You should either possess legal immigration status in Canada or be eligible for it.
  • Language Proficiency: If your occupation falls under NOC skill levels 2 or 3, you must meet the specified language requirements.
  • Salary Offer: The salary offered to you must align with the wage rates set for the particular occupation in British Columbia.
Meeting these eligibility criteria is crucial for being considered for nomination through the BC PNP, which opens up opportunities to apply for permanent residence in Canada.

What are the steps to Apply for BC PNP?
  • Category Selection: Once a candidate has determined the appropriate category for their immigration application, they can register online and receive a registration score based on their eligibility and qualifications.
  • Weekly Draws: The BC PNP conducts weekly draws to select the highest-scoring application registrants from the pool of candidates. However, the number of invitations issued may be subject to the program’s processing capacity.
  • Application Submission: Candidates who receive an invitation to apply must submit a complete online application within 30 days from the date of the invitation. As part of the application process, a fee of 1150 CAD is charged to the government (BC PNP fee is to be increased to $1,475 CAD FROM August 1, 2023).
  • Priority Processing: Applications submitted through the BC PNP are given top priority in processing, which helps expedite the assessment of the candidate’s eligibility for nomination.
  • Nomination and Permanent Residence: If the candidate’s application is approved, they will receive a nomination from the BC PNP. This nomination is a crucial step as it allows the applicant to apply for permanent residence in Canada through a separate application to the federal immigration authorities.
  • Work Permit Support Letter: Candidates who have been nominated and meet the criteria for their nomination will be provided with a work permit support letter. This letter enables them to apply for a new work permit or renew their existing one, allowing them to continue working in Canada while their application for permanent residence is being processed.

What is Express Entry?

The Express Entry application management system was created in 2015 to assist IRCC in identifying applicants for economic immigration with high levels of education who would be qualified for permanent residence.

The system ranks applicants from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class using the Comprehensive Ranking System. It takes into account a candidate’s job history, line of work, language proficiency, education, age, and other transferable factors. The most likely recipients of an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency are the individuals with the highest CRS scores’

Later this year, it’s anticipated that IRCC will start to target applicants based on any particular quality that is thought to be in demand at the time in Canada’s economy, rather than putting the greatest focus on a high CRS score.

Will the CRS no longer be used for Express Entry?

For Express Entry draws, a candidate’s CRS score will still be taken into consideration. Candidates will still be invited to draws by IRCC without consideration of any of the six categories. Both general and program-specific draws may fall under this category.

According to IRCC, Express Entry pool candidates who match the category requirements will be ranked, and the top candidates will be invited to apply for permanent residence.

What is Canada's PR processing time?

The processing time for Canada Permanent Resident (PR) applications can vary depending on several factors, including the type of PR program you are applying through, the completeness of your application, the volume of applications being processed, and any additional security or medical checks that may be required.

The whole Canada PR processing time takes from 12 months to 24 months. Canada PR is a stage-by-stage process right from getting the ITA (Invitation to Apply) to getting the Canada COPR request and flying off to Canada and every step has a recorded processing time.

Peerless Immigration Services has helped several of its clients in getting Canada PR in less timeframe with the accurate Canada PR process and documentation.

What is the Canada PR fee/Cost via Express Entry?

The primary application fee for Express Entry is CAD 850.
The landing fee for the applicant is CAD 515 the Canada PR fee for the second applicant is the same.

While the cost of a dependent child is $230 and the biometric fees for each individual above or the age of 14 and under the age of 79 must pay CAD 85 for biometrics.

IRCC’s strike ended after Wage Deal - Canada Immigration News

As workers end their strike after receiving a 12% pay rise, immigration to Canada is likely to improve.

After the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau agreed to pay increases of about 12% over four years, about 120,000 federal public service employees in Canada ended a strike.

About 155,000 of the nation’s public employees, or one-third of the workforce, went on strike on April 19 in support of telework flexibility and cost-of-living increases, occupying picket lines in countless cities across the nation.

Major delays in public services, such as processing passport and immigration applications, have been brought on by the labor action.

Early on Monday, the Public Service Alliance of Canada made the declaration. Employees who perform a variety of tasks, such as product inspection, administration in government agencies, and passport and visa applications, have been placed on leave since the conflict started on April 19.

The federal tax office employs about 35,000 people, and they are currently on strike because no agreement has been reached about their demand for a higher wage increase. In Canada, Monday is the deadline for submitting personal income taxes.

The main disagreement between the government and its employees was over wage demands following a recent period of high inflation, however, an effort to formalize remote work arrangements also ran into opposition.

The Treasury Board, the government employer, refused to allow work from home to be incorporated into the collective bargaining agreement, hence PSAC was unable to succeed. However, there is an agreement to deal with requests for remote work individually and in writing, which makes the government subject to the grievance procedure for employees.

According to PSAC, the union and management reached an agreement “that mandates managers to assess remote work requests individually, not by group,” and submit written justifications.

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, many workers had grown accustomed to teleworking, which was a sticking point. PSAC claimed it had obtained “significant new protections.”

The administration was concerned that allowing too much freedom for remote work might set a precedent for other industries and further harm cities already dealing with lower foot traffic than before the pandemic.

Additionally, a lump-sum payment of C$2,500 ($1,842) is available to union members.

About 159,000 employees, including 35,000 from the Canada Revenue Agency, are reportedly ready to quit their jobs starting on Wednesday, according to the Public Service Alliance of Canada.

The Canadian government is dedicated to establishing collective agreements that are reasonable for taxpayers and fair to workers.

A labor disruption could have an impact on some services.

Services that are to continue without disruption maintained

In the event of a labor disruption, some IRCC services will remain available. You would still be able to:
  • Submission of online application
  • Mailing applications to IRCC
  • Using online accounts, and
  • Access to emergency services

These services are offered by non-governmental organizations and would still be available:
  • Settlement services from IRCC’s partner organizations
  • Health care through the Interim Federal Health Program, and
  • Visa application centers outside of Canada
Services that are to be partially or fully disrupted

Most IRCC services would be affected by a labor interruption, just like the majority of Government of Canada services. Delays are to be anticipated with:
  • Processing of visa applications
  • In-person appointments or events including citizenship ceremonies
  • Contacting IRCC via email, phone, or social media
  • Consular citizenship and passport services
  • Passport services in Canada
Labor disruptions

The Canadian government is dedicated to drafting collective agreements that are just for public employees and affordable for taxpayers.

Collective agreements are now being negotiated between the Canadian government and PSAC. The Union of Taxation Employees (PSAC-UTE) and the Canada Revenue Agency (a distinct employer) are also in talks. This totals roughly 159,000 employees who provide the general public with a range of services.

Should immigrants be worried?

No, you can easily create your profile for Canada PR online and apply for it if you’re a prospective immigrant who plans to or has already applied for Canada Permanent Residence. This is because the Canadian government and the PSAC are currently in negotiations and working to reach a quick resolution. Your applications can be sent to IRCC by mail.
