Ontario Issues 4th draw in a month - Peerless Immigration Services

On July 25th, 2023, the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) conducted its fourth draw of the month, inviting 95 immigrants through the Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Workers Stream. This draw was specifically for candidates who had created their profiles in the Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) Express Entry System between July 25, 2022, and July 25, 2023. Those with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging from 321 to 374 were issued a Notification of Interest (NOI) to apply for nomination. Previous draws were held on July 6, 2023, and twice on July 20, 2023.

Have a look at the results of the Latest Ontario PNP Draw 2023:

Stream: French-Speaking Skilled Workers Stream

Number of Invitations Issued: 95

CRS Score Range: 321-374

Profile Submission in-between: July 25, 2022 – July 25, 2023

What is the eligibility criteria for French Speaking Skilled Workers Stream?

To be eligible for Ontario’s French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream, candidates need to:
  • Qualify for one of Canada’s Federal High Skilled programs: either the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) or the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
  • If applying through the FSWP, they must score at least 67 points based on factors like language skills, education, work experience, age, arranged employment in Canada, and adaptability.
  • Meet the stream’s work experience requirements, which means having relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrate language proficiency in French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or higher, and in English at CLB 6 or higher in all four components.
  • Have either a Canadian Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree, or an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) showing that foreign education is equivalent to a Canadian degree.
  • Plan to live in Ontario and provide documentation showing ties to the province.
  • If already residing in Canada, they must hold legal status and maintain it until the time of nomination.
  • Have sufficient funds to cover settlement costs in Ontario, which can be proven through various means like bank statements, earnings from employment, or a job offer in Ontario.
The required settlement funds must meet the amounts specified for each family size and are subject to annual updates.

What is the work experience requirements for French Speaking Skilled Workers Program?
  • Candidates must have at least one year of continuous, full-time employment experience (or part-time equivalent) in a National Occupation Classification (NOC) Type/Level 0, A, or B occupation within five years before receiving the NOI from the OINP.
  • Full-time work means working at least 30 hours per week for one year, totaling at least 1,560 hours of paid employment.
  • It’s important to note that work experience that adds up to 1,560 hours but is obtained in less than a year or through volunteer work does not count as valid work experience.
  • Continuous work means there should be no gaps between periods of employment. While candidates can have back-to-back jobs with the same or different employers, they must have at least one year of work experience in the same NOC occupation as declared in their Express Entry profile.
  • Part-time equivalent work can also be considered, requiring at least 15 hours of work per week for two years or at least 30 hours of work per week in multiple concurrent jobs for one year.
  • The activities performed in the job must match the lead statement for the occupation and the main duties outlined in the NOC.
What is the application process for Ontario French Skilled Worker Visa?

The application process for the Ontario French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream follows these steps:
  • First, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria for either the Federal Skilled Worker Class or the Canadian Experience Class.
  • Create an Express Entry profile, which is a system to manage applications for permanent residence.
  • The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) will search the Express Entry pool to identify potential candidates who meet the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream requirements.
  • If selected, you will receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) letter from the OINP. This letter is valid for 45 days.
  • Within 45 days of receiving the NOI, submit your application to the OINP under the French-speaking Skilled Worker Stream.
  • If nominated, you will receive a Nomination Approval Letter and an OINP Certificate of Nomination by email. You have 30 days to accept the nomination in the Express Entry system.
  • Being nominated gives you an additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) and increases your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a future draw from the pool.
  • If you receive an ITA, you have 60 days to submit your application for Canadian permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
